Part Time Work?:
Should I Get A Job Or Make My Own Job?
This is a question that surprises many job
seekers. Many have never even considered that they could make their
own job so the prospective of starting your own businesses seems to be too unrealistic. However, as many freelancers around the world can attest, many people have
been able to start small businesses to help pay the bills or turn them into larger scale businesses for their
income.
Common areas that people tend to gravitate
towards are article writing, child care, handyperson, and computer/internet off-shoots. These areas are popular because many people need help in these
areas. Many internet businesses need help in getting content so
they will pay you for writing articles, ebooks, manuals, sales letters, blog posts, etc. The child care and handyperson options can be a little more physical labor
intensive, but will always have a need in many areas around the world. These services can be promoted through word of mouth and through various local
church groups, Kiwanis Clubs, and other community organizations. In
addition, the computer/internet off-shoots can take many different forms from computer repair, graphic design,
internet marketing and more. These areas tend to require some
technical know-how, but they can be very effective at providing a good income.
The good thing about these freelance
businesses is they tend to have small start up costs and create a steady stream of income that can help you pay
your bills in the short run and still allow you the time freedom to keep searching for more long term
employment. However, I will warn you that many people have found
these business models to be so effective that they have chosen to work for themselves full time and have no
plans of ever getting a traditional job again.
